MARTIN ZERFAS
PRINCIPAL CONSULTANT

Martin Zerfas is Principal Consultant of Farm Welfare Consulting and has 15 years of experience working to improve the supply chain for animal-sourced foods. From 2020 to 2025, Martin was the Chief Executive Officer of New Market ESG, a U.S. corporation specializing in sustainable finance and farm animal welfare. He also held various roles for Humane World for Animals from 2012 to 2020, including International Program Manager for Farm Animals. A former commercial litigation attorney, Martin worked in private practice and for Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton. 

 

His farm animal welfare career has taken him to Australia, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, South Africa, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom. He has also worked with companies, financial institutions and organizations located in Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Mexico, Nigeria, Philippines, Singapore and Vietnam.​​​​​​​​​​​
